Giacomo d’Orlando is an Italian documentary photographer whose work explores the fragile balance between humanity and the natural world. Splitting his time between Italy and Southeast Asia, he documents the profound transformations unfolding across our planet in the face of climate change, scientific advancement, and ecological crisis.
After four years as a commercial photographer in his hometown of Verona, he began traveling extensively in 2015 to dedicate himself fully to visual storytelling.
Since then, he has pursued long-term personal projects and collaborated with NGOs and foundations, with a particular focus on environmental conservation, indigenous knowledge, and the frontiers of scientific and technological research.
His photographic practice is rooted in a desire to raise awareness and spark dialogue around the urgent need to protect and restore our ecosystems. Through immersive reportage, he seeks to inform and evoke empathy and action by capturing stories where resilience, innovation and nature intersect.
